Dear Eldercompass- thank you for being so wonderful. I will never forget the day you responded to our family’s cry for help. Working and being 45 minutes away from my mom when she needed me, hurt to the core. I remembered you saying, “Just call if you need us.” Well, I called you and you descended like an Angel. After calming Mom and getting her settled, rather than slipping out of the house and going back to your life, your caregiver stayed with her until I flew across town. I will be forever grateful to you for assistance with interim planning and responding as you did and for your inquires about Mom’s status. You offered a shoulder to cry on numerous times, not to mention the helpful phone consultations. Thanks be to God for all that you do. For us and for others. In admiration and appreciation.
Our family didn’t expect Mom’s hospitalization. Nancy (ElderCompass) helped us navigate an array of complex topics including medicare and health records to legal and care plans required to get Mom back on-the-road to independence.
Nancy provided a comprehensive and organized approach. Experience that would normally take months to learn, our family gained within a week. Now we are empowered and in control of our situation, and, Mom is comforted knowing we have a great coach on our team.
Our family loves Nancy! Thank you so much for being there!!
Our beloved aunt is now 86, and suffered a brain injury eight years ago from a car accident. It has caused her to become extremely forgetful, and we simply didn’t know what to do to get her the help she now needs.
The Elder Compass in home assessment provided us with immediate insights into her condition, not from a clinical perspective, but from the care perspective. They broke everything down: exercise, safety, medication review and enforcement, driving and mobility, and general contentment and well-being. From their assessment in all of these areas, and the more structured information gained from filling out the Geriatric Assessment Profile, they then provided a plan customized to meet our aunt’s needs, with local health care resources also identified.
We were also quite touched by the the lead geriatric care specialist interacted with my aunt. It was a wonderful combination of respect, gentleness, empathy, but with a certain amount of firmness and clear communication about the changes she needed to make in her life. We cannot say enough about the how their detailed expertise in care was combined with interpersonal skills to meet the needs of a difficult situation. It was a bargain.
Earlier this year and spring of last year, our family had health situations- Eldercompass provided prompt answers when we were in crisis. Eldercompass staff are consummate professionals. The recommendations we received were organized and presented with compassion, respect, and care. There is not enough money to pay for the caliber of recommendations and care our family received.
